Giles runway Spring / Summer 2014
The trend for braids this season is certainly not neat and girly, but very much roughed up and a little bit dishevelled with lots of texture.
Braids in one form or another have been around for a couple of seasons now. But whereas last year they went back to basics, with beautiful simplicity, when the models came down the catwalks for the Spring / Summer 2014 collections back in the autumn, there was a definite shift in the way braids were being worn. Braids have come of age this year and are showing their edgier side.
Or for an edgy, urban look, opt for a single braid swept to one side with loose waves.
Even braided crowns, often so pristine, are being worn rougher this season. It gives them a more relaxed air and less like a little girl.
